AuroraCell’s Approach

AuroraCell was founded on a vision, a vision to build a global biotechnology startup that will transform the way in which doctors treat patients in order to extend patients’ prognoses. AuroraCell is aiming to treat the underlying disease as opposed to purely treating symptoms with the aim to enable disease resolution and longevity for those with liver cirrhosis (end stage liver disease).

Immunotherapy has significantly advanced cancer treatment however it is our aim to use immunotherapy to address mechanisms of fibrotic diseases, starting with the liver.

The Liver

The liver is an organ that has huge regenerative capabilities. However there reaches a point at which the liver can no longer regenerate and once liver disease is at an advanced stage the only treatment is transplant of which there is a huge shortage. There are strict criteria for getting a transplant and once on the list almost 1 in 6 people will die waiting. This is the problem that AuroraCell is striving to address.

Origins

AuroraCell’s origins lie in a personal story of loss which took place during the pandemic. However this was the catalyst for something great, something that sets out to challenge current treatment protocols and produce a cutting edge treatment to transform lives.
